At the American University of Paris, Combes Gallery

On September 29, 2005, Robbie’s exhibition of Etchings, Photographs and Book Arts opened at an evening reception. AUP’s Combes Gallery Curator, Professor Ralph Petty officiated. Students and art lovers from the city, as well as many from Angelina College who had traveled with Robbie, attended, making for a full crowd and festive evening.


Pictured above are several shots of the Gallery and the reception. Students who attended included Emily Cole. Her mother, Mary Jane Cole, had attended AC in the early 1990′s to take art instruction with Robbie. Emily’s Dad,Blair Cole, is now working in Paris, so two generations of AC Art students were able to be present there at Robbie’s opening.

Robbie’s sister Shelley and husband Jimmy Rushin, and his nieces Kim and Alicia were also on hand. Angelina College students Conni Estes, Christine Currie, Maggie Brandon, Max Reynolds, Sarah Howton, and Tracii New all attended. AC instructor Linda Pinkston and her sister Sandy also were there. Special visits to many art historical sites and monuments included a day at the Palace of Versailles, The Louvre, and Pere Lachaise Cemetery.
